Zhen Fan, MD
Dr. Zhen Fan is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, as well as the advanced treatment of vein disease. He is recognized as one of the region’s leading robotic surgeons and vein specialists, having performed more than 1,500 robotic procedures and over 4,000 vein closure treatments.

By utilizing the latest minimally invasive techniques and advanced technology, he strives to achieve the best possible outcomes while promoting faster recovery, less pain, and an improved quality of life.
Experience & Expertise
Dr. Fan completed his general surgery residency in Cincinnati, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Since 2008, he has proudly served the Houston community, delivering expert surgical care with a commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered treatment. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Chief of Surgery at HCA West Houston Medical Center.
Education & Training
Dr. Fan received his Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, Cincinnati. He completed his residency in general surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati and a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Colorectal Surgery at Case Western University in Cleveland.
Leadership & Recognition
Additionally, he served as Chief of Surgery at HCA Houston Health Care West from 2020 to 2022.

Dr. Fan’s approach begins with listening. He wants to understand not only the medical issue, but also how it affects the patient’s daily life. From there, he focuses on education, shared decision-making, and a treatment plan that is personalized to the patient.
